Fort Chadbourne
Planned Visitor's Center/Museum

The Fort Chadbourne Foundation has plans to build a Visitor's Center/Museum at the entrance of the fort on Hwy 277. The center was designed by Joe Freeman, historical architect from Austin, TX. The fort has been open to the public since 1999 and we are currently using the ranch headquarters office as a temporary visitor's center/museum. Since display space is limited, many artifacts are stored until this new center is built.
Martha Doty Freeman, historian from Austin, TX, will complete the historical research of Fort Chadbourne by the end of October. This was made possible with a grant from the Summerlee Foundation in Dallas, TX. We are excited about publishing the information on Fort Chadbourne when it is complete. We are please to be associated with both Martha and Joe. They do fantastic work!
